• Lakeside Outward Bound Centre

A group of ten young people from Speke and Garston, who had previously been members of the YouthPoint community, took part in a weekend residential at the Lakeside Outward Bound Centre. This gave us the opportunity to catch-up and see what they had been up to since we last met.

We talked about the impact YouthPoint had had on their lives and discussed previous good practice and how we coud improve the services we offer our young people.

We delivered a programme of fun activities that was designed to challenge their strengths and weaknesses, encourage team work and developed social skills - which included:

• rock climbing, abseiling & low ropes training
• raft building, sailing & canoeing
• cultural diversity awareness
• dance workshops
• boxercise classes
• visits from Film Youth Squad (Maritime launch) Active citizenship (Jigsaw)
