Lynnie Williams: YouthPoint Manager
I started at Five as the Family Involvement Manager in June 2007, but when YouthPoint became part of Five a year later, I transferred over to this role full time. I have managed YouthPoint for over five years and love working with the young people in my community and watching them grow. It is the most satisfying job I have ever had.

I am really proud to see just how far our community has come. I am definitely considered a 'people person' and my greatest satisfaction comes from helping others take that next step in improving their lives and the lives of their children.

John McCarthy: : Youth Worker
I have worked with young people in different areas of Liverpool for a number of years. In this time I have facilitated and developed such creative initiatives as plays, films, photography exhibitions and community radio projects.

At YouthPoint I was involved with a Tackling Racism project that concluded with a visit to Auschwitz in Poland. With YouthPoint staff I participated in designing a 'Gang, Gun and Knife Crime' project finishing off with a visit to a prison in Doncaster. Working with young people is a rewarding and satisfying experience that is always different and exciting. I am hoping to develop more international links and arrange visits to Africa.

Marc Dermott: : Youth Worker
I've been involved with youth work for a number of years, previously as Community Youth Worker at Broadgreen International and currently I am employed as Play Worker at Five's Kids Club, as well as sessional work at YouthPoint.

I've helped to develop and deliver a number of projects in the area including Splash, Summer 06, SALT (Sport Achieve, Learn & Train) and Soccer Fix. I also play semi-professional football for Camarfon.

Mark O'Shaugnessy: : Youth Worker
YThe opportunity to work with adults and young people, helping them to realise their potential has been a fulfilling experience. Combining personal experiences with my work interests has enabled me to gain more understanding of people's needs - which at times can be demanding and complex in nature.

I am genuinely enthusiastic and motivated in my role as a sessional Youth Worker at YouthPoint and look forward to the challenges it presents.

Jamie Wallace: : Youth Worker
YI have been employed as a Youth Worker since 2007. I completed a placement at YouthPoint whilst studying for a degree in Psychology in Childhood and Youth studies in Liverpool Hope University. Since then I have also completed an NVQ Level 2 in Youth Work.

I love working with young people as I enjoy going into work each day in the knowledge that there will always be something different and challenging for me to do, so I was delighted when Five Children's Trust offered me a permanent position at YouthPoint. In my spare time I enjoy socialising with friends, travel and experiencing new cultures.

Adam McDonald: : Peer Mentor
I attend Parklands High School and have been involved with YouthPoint for the past couple of years. I have taken part in a number of projects including the Positive Activities for Young People, Tackling Racism (trip to Poland), the London trip, "You are what you eat" and Health Awareness.

I enjoyed the experience so much that I am now involved with YouthPoint as a 'Peer Mentor' where I can hopefully make a positive difference to the quality of life for young people living in the area.

Natalie Hunt: : Peer Mentor
I was a student at St Julie's Secondary School in Woolton and I'm now completing a 'Business Administration' course at the Young People's Opportunities Project. I have also completed an NVQ in 'Skills for Working Life', 'Bricklaying' and 'Horticulture'.

I was initially involved with YouthPoint as a young person and enjoyed it so much I and now I am a 'Peer Mentor' for the organisation. I hope to set an example to younger people that engage with the project and I would love to get a full-time job working here.
